When Dr. Olson was 17 years old he got a job at a local pet store that had a veterinary clinic attached to it. During that time, he found himself hanging around clinic shadowing the doctors in his free time. It was then that he thought that being a veterinarian could be an emotionally rewarding career for him.
Since that time, Dr. Olson received his bachelor's degree in Integrated Biology at BYU where he had the opportunity to study black bears in the wild while working as a Veterinary Technician. After graduating, Dr. Olson went to the University of Glasgow for vet school. He loved his time abroad experiencing a difficult culture and cuisine.
After completing an internship at the University of Oregon, Dr. Olson returned to Utah and worked as an associate Veterinarian until he bought A Gentle Vet and worked hard growing it to what it is today.
