Cryosurgery is the use of extreme cold to destroy both benign and malignant lesions. This procedure uses a process of repeated freezing and re-thawing the area of interest in order to remove the lesion. In most cases, cryosurgery can be performed without anesthesia and has very few side effects. Cryosurgery is most often used for tumors and precancerous lesions found on the skin, however, it is also used for eyelid tumors and fistulas. If you feel like cryosurgery could be beneficial to your pet, please come in for a consultation.
